Top 10 autumn/winter wedding trends 2022
Although summer may be the peak of the wedding season, the colder months offer endless opportunities for an even more creative and unique wedding celebration. From ruby red tones to whimsical lighting, we’ve curated a list of our top ten autumn/winter wedding trends for 2022 to inspire you for planning a spectacular celebration through the colder but cozier months of the year.
Whimsical lighting displays
Why not use candles as a display piece to add a touch of warmth and glow to your ceremony. Old school candelabras, glimmering chandeliers and elaborate centre pieces are coming back into fashion.
Bridal trouser suits
Who said your wedding attire had to be a wedding dress? Bridal trouser suits and jumpsuits are becoming more popular with their clean, tailored chic making a bold statement and switching it up from the classic gown and veil.
Bold jewel tone colour schemes
The deep jewel tones of autumn make for a stunning colour scheme, a refreshing change from the pastels and bright tones of summer. Incorporate forest green, beautiful burgundy and hints of gold for a more unique colour palette.
Disco theme
With it being the year that ABBA returned (hoorah!) and the year that all singing all dancing events could re-take to the stage post-Covid, many a wedding will see the return of the disco ball. Get your dancing shoes at the ready!
More intimate ceremonies
As the season progresses, ceremonies will become smaller, with couples inviting only their nearest and dearest to their big day.
Floral wedding cakes
More minimal wedding cakes are a popular choice in autumn and winter, often with floral or dried fruit accents to add a pop of colour and interest. Dried clementines are a fabulous addition in winter, with dried florals being popular in the autumn.
Dried florals and foliage displays
Dried florals have become an increasingly popular interior feature in our homes across the past couple of years, also extending into weddings! Along with luscious green foliage displays, these options can replace the vibrant fresh flowers of summer.
Comfort food
Whether it’s warm, spiced cider or indulgent sweet treats, the rich and warming food and drink of autumn and winter is one of the biggest perks of the season. Food trucks and stalls are becoming ever more popular to keep guests watered and fed all into the night, with personalised bars with seasonal beverages also becoming a hit.
The colour of the season: ruby red
With it being the classic Christmas shade as well as the tone of the changing autumn leaves, ruby red is set to be a popular bridesmaid dress and accent colour this autumn and winter.
Simple monochrome tablescapes
White tablescapes will be dined upon by many wedding guests this season, perfect for a winter wonderland wedding or those who want a minimal, clean appearance to their wedding dinners.
