Emi and Alex’s country wedding

The first wedding for one of our own Marble Directors. Emi and Alex chose Emi’s home in the heart of rural England to host the weekend. Her aim was to find that balance between a traditional English wedding format: church followed by drinks, dinner and dancing, but to bring some lightheartedness to the occasion. She wanted a laid back feel brought in by colour, the countryside, food, music, family, friends and of course, the dogs.

After the ceremony, the bride and groom were driven away in a trailer seated amongst balloons and children. The guests arrived at the house and walked through what the bride coined her “walkway of dreams”; a wooded grove adorned with pompoms and coloured lanterns. Guests were served G&Ts from her very own gin tin, a horse trailer designed and fabricated into a bar by the Marble Private team.

For dinner, 3 long tables made an impressive sight and encouraged the tapas starter to be shared and passed and placed amongst English flowers, logs and honeycomb candles. Later on, the gates inside the dinner tent were opened to reveal the dance tent; a mishmash of ribbons, stripes, photographs and colour hosting musical legends on the decks and a percussionist to accompany.
