Two Parties for One London Wedding Celebration – Night Two
We created a Royal Ball theme, to reflect our client’s appreciation for design, sophistication and style. This theme set the tone for the evening which allowed us to build the entertainment programme around it.
From a blank canvas of a venue space, we built all of the event structure and decoration in the venue, to create the right atmosphere of being in a ballroom of a royal palace in the time of the Tsars.
Guests arrived and were welcomed by heavily adorned flower ladies at the entrance of the curved winter garden, complete with stone statues and painted performers as statues and walked through the arched walkway, accompanied by a solo harpist until they arrived at the balcony of the ballroom for drinks and canapés.
The ballroom was decorated in a light blue and gold theme, touching on the decadent aesthetic of regal art and architecture. Eight large glass chandeliers were suspended from the ceiling to give a ballroom effect. Armchairs and table seating areas were stationed throughout the space for guests to rest. Our custom built 12m long bar with a custom built backdrop and suspended drapery surrounding it, provided a central focus for the event offering guests a range of cocktails whilst they enjoyed the entertainment.
The round tables throughout were decorated with blue, white and gold arrangements of flowers and fabric adding to the colour scheme and that sense of opulence and winter colour palette.
Whilst guests congregated, we had four roaming courtier entertainers. On stage, Escala, the female string quartet performed an acoustic set before guests were invited down to the ballroom for a performance by cossack dancers on stage.
Guests enjoyed a performance of The Nutcracker by The Royal Ballet before all gathering round for the cake cutting – an exquisite five-tiered cake adorned with delicate flowers.
Food was served on banquet style tables, heavily draped in fabric, with plinths and food platters on stands. Dinner and desserts were available at the food stations throughout the evening.
The tempo went up a notch with Escala performing an electrified set on stage. followed by ‘Big Band Paris Select’ offering up some party hits before a DJ closed the night.
