St Tropez meets Sevenoaks
Our brief was to bring the beach clubs of St Tropez to a private home in the UK. One slight problem: it’s March, in Kent.
We built the marquee over the natural swimming pond, which ticked the box for guests sitting on the water’s edge. Then, across the water, we built a 30 metre long screen onto which we projected live feed of St Tropez harbour. The scene rolled through day to dusk and on to night, taking the guests on the journey as the evening progressed.
Guests arrived to French jazz and were met with heat in the air and sand underfoot. At dinner, model waiters guided guests to their seats in the restaurant where they feasted on griddled bread, charcuterie, tapenade and the plat du jour of sea bass as the rosé flowed and the musicians circulated. The temperature stayed hot and the tempo notched up when the DJ kicked off his second set. The club now just one big dance floor, people dancing on the tables or kicking the sand under their feet.
