Teddy and Cas’ colourful wedding
Teddy (one of the Directors at Marble Private) and Cas wanted to produce a wedding in Norfolk that had the Latino vibes of Cuba (where Cas grew up), the tastes of Spain (where her parents were from) and the colour of every fruit that grows on this green earth (because they like fruit!).
The result was sensational. The ceremony was simple with a stunning palm and flower arch for the bride and groom and wooden benches for the guests. Fringed with multi-coloured pineapples exploding from the head of giant elephant palms. Guests were treated to beers and the hymns were from Bill Withers and the Gypsy Kings. The reception took place by the lake. Food stations served sherry and jamon and fish tacos and the beautiful wooden round bar dispensed drinks against the backdrop of the lake. The decoration was stunning and vibrant, using splashes of colour with ribbons and artificial jasmine. Supper was held under the now infamous Marble pergola; we are the only company to own this structure. Seating 220 under the wisteria-adorned pergola overlooking the lake and park created a mind-blowing image. Tapas and paella by the ever-brilliant Peardrop warmed the stomachs of the guests before a procession to the dance floor led by pink flares.
On the dance floor a meter-and-a-half glitter ball hung between trees seemingly bathing the entire island in glistening starlight. Marble’s signature horsebox bar served up Pisco Sours and Negronis, whilst another custom-built Marble bar, which was created as an ode to the bride’s father, spilled out rum, tequila and cigars. The dance floor was a marvel; custom built with a whitewashed scaffold board floor and the DJ booth flanked by palms and cacti as well as hanging baskets of flowers and fauna suspended in the canopy. At 3am the guests headed to “the shed” for the after party. The fruit theme was running strong here and did a remarkable job of turning a working farmyard into a real ‘hoedown’. We can’t report too much on this part of the evening ;).
