Fun and Relaxed Wedding in the Isle of Wight
The bride and groom wanted a wedding which was to pull in the fun, family focussed elements that their two families were able to provide. One location in the Isle of Wight, with a classic feel, simple details but of great quality, which is why they pulled us in to help.
A one day wedding (with a relaxed Sunday lunch the next day) for a group of 120 family and friends at the groom’s family home in the Isle of Wight. The couple requested a traditional pole marquee which the family decorated with plants and flowers around its edge and entrance.
We provided warm festoon lighting, a bar and up-lights for the dance floor. A simple outlay for a gorgeously laid back wedding filled with personal touches.
The bride and her father left in the pimped, open top red Land Rover and returned with Alice and Humphrey, now a married couple. As a nod to the Scottish half, three bagpipers led the congregation back from the church.
They were blessed with blue skies and sunshine so the reception took place on the lawn, before heading into the marquee for dinner. The reputable Cowes restaurant, Smoking Lobster created all the delicious canapés for the drinks reception and the dinner menu (which Willis confirms was the best wedding food he has ever had!)
The couple were welcomed into the marquee with a full wedding napkin salute with all guests standing on chairs, cheering them in to Reef’s “Put your hands up”.
After dinner, the ‘Wed Shred Band’, made up of the bride’s brother and his talented session musician mates played some great covers, followed by a DJ who kept the crowd on the dance floor all night.
